For many customers purchasing a tractor trailer load Hay can be a stressful task. Because hay types and bale sizes vary so much from area to area It can be difficult for two people to talk over the phone and understand each other’s needs properly. We have been doing this for years and understand how important it is to get the understanding between us right.

Here are some of the key questions asked by customers and the answers that can help you understand what we can do for you

Our main farm, yard and office is located in Montgomery NY approximately 7 hours drive east of where most of our northeast hay is located. And 1-4 hours west/north/south of many of our customers in the NY, New England and NJ areas. We also have a re-distribution warehouse/yard located in Wellington FL and a inventory yard in Western NY.
We deliver almost anywhere in the US and some overseas using various types of transportation. However our best full service is in NY, CT, NJ, MA, NH, VT, PA, OH, IN, KY (Lexington/Louisville area) and Wellington/Ocala FL during winter months. In these areas our own trucks and crews travel back and forth to deliver and unload daily. Outside of this area we can ship truckloads but do not provide the unloading and stacking services. For details refer to our delivery area page.
Our hay is sourced from a network of farms scattered across NY, PA, OH, Ontario, IN, WA, NV and several other regions depending on the product. Because the weather is so unpredictable and it directly affects hay quality we are constantly on the road loading and grading hay as its shipped to customers.
Yes, if you wish to pick up and do your own transportation you can pickup from our main farm located in Montgomery NY, our warehouse located in Wellington FL or our yard in Western NY. Not all products are available in all locations. For details refer to our delivery area page.
Depending on your area we can deliver anywhere from 1 ton/30 bales to 35 ton/1400 bales on a load. We have many sizes of trucks to accommodate different delivery requirements. For details refer to our load size page.
Almost all of our hay is sold by the ton (2000lb units) the truck is weighed empty and then again after loading on a platform scale to determine the Net weight of the product on the truck. This is the most fair and accurate way to sell or purchase hay. You get what you pay for pound for pound no matter what the individual bales weigh. In small quantities or when required hay is sold by the bale. Shavings are sold by the Bale because of common industry trends however the weight of a bale of shavings is almost always consistent
All hay sold by Aden Brook is guaranteed to be what it was represented as. If you are unhappy with the quality we will take whatever measures are necessary to replace or make it right with you. Because there are so many types and grades of hay it is very important that we understand your quality needs before shipping hay to you (if you are a new customer). We normally determine this in a detailed conversation that we have over the phone or in person with you.
We prefer at least 2 weeks’ notice for delivery. This gives us time to plan our trips efficiently and select the proper hay for your delivery. However we never let a customer run out of stock. In a situation where you may have forgot to order, we will do what it takes to get you hay before you run out.

No, in our 18 years of business we have never run out of hay or straw to keep our customers going. In certain circumstances we may need to switch a customer over to a more available type of hay or bale size but this is rare. Our job is to go as far as necessary to find the quality and volume of hay that our customers need. We accomplish this through long term planning and projections that are constantly being updated as the marketing year progresses.
Yes if you are in an area where this is a service and your volume qualifies you. Refer to our delivery area map. We have a fleet of 53’ box and 28’ “pup” trailers that we “drop and switch” at customers locations.
All of our flatbed trucks are equipped with tarps and loads are fully tarped if there is forecasted rain in the path of our haul.

We hope these answers were helpful. Feel free to call our office at 800-747-3811 with additional questions. If you need more information in a specific type of hay or a recommended hay for your particular needs please refer to our product menu.
