#Alfalfa Orchard Hay Mix
#2002 2nd Cut Alfalfa hay in 2 string bales
Suggested Use:
Alfalfa 2nd cut hay in 2 string bales is used by many breeding farms for mares and yearlings. Although not as leafy as western alfalfa it is premium quality and will test close to the same protein and RFV. The only difference from the western alfalfa to the eastern grown alfalfa is that the stems may be larger and sometimes there may be a very small amount of grass mixed in. The 65lb bales are also much easier to handle than the 3 string bales. 2 string alfalfa is delivered on flatbed trailers of approximately 860 bales/ 27 ton. We recommend you have us unload and stack for you if you are in our full service delivery area.
#2000 3 String Premium Western Alfalfa
Suggested Use: (download example hay test)
Premium Western Alfalfa hay in 3 string bales is the top choice of many breeding farms for mares and yearlings. It is high in protein and overall has a RFV of 160+ depending on the stack. Western alfalfa has a very high percentage of leaves and smaller stems making the hay more palatable to animals. Horses typically eat this hay very well. It comes in 100 to 130lb 3 string bales and is shipped on a 53’ van trailer. Full loads will be approximately 22 ton/380 bales. Unloading this type of hay is difficult and will require 4 or 5 rugged men. We recommend you have us unload if you are in our full service delivery zone.
#2001 Premium Western Alfalfa in Large Square Bales
Suggested Use:
Western Alfalfa in large square bales used by many dairy and breeding farms that are equipped to handle the 850 to 2000lb bales. The hay is very nice quality and test varies depending on the batch with RFV from 160’s up over 200. The large square bales will flake off well and the hay will have good leaf retention with minimal steaminess. Loads of this hay are shipped on flatbeds and will have 24 to 27 ton depending on where we are hauling. Depending on the batch the hay may be in 3x3(aprox 850lb), 3x4(aprox 1400lb) or 4x4 (2000lb) bales.
